birth Jaco Pastorius, jazz bass player, (1976 hit with Weather Report, 'Birdland'). Also worked with Joni Mitchell and Pat Metheny. Died on 21st September 1987 aged 35. He suffered irreversible brain damage after being beaten into a coma after an altercation with a bouncer at the Midnight Club in Fort Lauderdale.
