British submarine Starfish attacked German minesweeper M-7 off Helgoland, but the torpedoes misfired. M-7 counterattacked with depth charges for hours, causing damage. At 1820 hours, Lieutenant Thomas Turner of Starfish ordered the submarine to surface and surrendered. This loss led to the Royal Navy's decision to suspend submarine operations in Belgoland Bight.
