Seven German torpedo boats were dispatched from Trondheim, Norway to attack an Allied convoy off northern Scotland, United Kingdom. Torpedo boat T.6 hit a mine in a unexpected minefield and sink 40 miles north of the convoy, forcing the entire attack party to return to Trondheim without carrying out their mission.
