Richard Starkey (later known as Ringo Starr) is thought to have made his debut at the Cavern Club, playing drums with the Eddie Clayton Skiffle Group. John Lennon made his first appearance at the club a week later with The Quarry Men Skiffle Group. Paul McCartney made his first appearance in January 1958 with The Quarry Men.
