Photomaton In 1928, the first U.S. patent for a fully automatic photographic film developing machine was issued to its inventor, Anatol M. Josepho. It was an apparatus for developing film strips. The first model of the Photomaton was constructed in a loft building on 125th Street, New York City. It is said the inventor received one million dollars for the invention. The first Photomaton studio was opened to the public at 1659 Broadway, New York City, in Sep 1926.
